Terms of Service
1. Who We Are
AI Explorers Academy ("we," "us," or "our") is an educational software service operated by RAIWTID AI, LLC. Our web application is available at aiexplorersacademy.com. We offer an AI literacy curriculum designed for students in grades 2–8.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using AI Explorers Academy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian allowing a child to use the app, you accept these terms on that child's behalf.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the app.
3. Age Requirements and Parental Consent
AI Explorers Academy is designed for children ages 7–14 (grades 2–8). Because we serve children:
- Children under 13 must have parental or guardian permission before using the app.
- We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any child. All progress is stored locally on the child's device.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their child's use of the app.
4. School and District Use
Schools and districts may deploy AI Explorers Academy to students under the following conditions:
- Authorized School Official: The school or district acts as an authorized school official under FERPA and as the parental consent agent under COPPA's school official exception. By deploying this app, the school certifies it has appropriate authority to consent on behalf of students.
- Data Processing Agreement: Schools and districts are encouraged to execute a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with RAIWTID AI, LLC prior to district-wide deployment. View the DPA →
- Administrator responsibility: School administrators are responsible for ensuring students use the app in accordance with these Terms, the school's acceptable use policy, and applicable law.
- No advertising: We will never serve behavioral or targeted advertising to students using the app through a school deployment.
- Site licensing: Schools requiring a site license, purchase order process, or custom pricing should contact us at burchell.porter@raiwtid.com.
5. Description of Service
AI Explorers Academy provides a structured, 30-mission AI literacy curriculum. Features include:
- Mission-based learning content on artificial intelligence concepts
- ARIA, an AI-powered tutoring assistant
- Quizzes, badges, and experience points (XP)
- A parent progress dashboard
- Separate learning tracks for grades 2–5 and grades 6–8
6. Free Tier and Paid Access
Free tier: Missions 1–7 are available at no cost, with no account creation or credit card required.
Full access: Missions 8–30 will require a one-time family purchase. When this becomes available, payment will be processed by Stripe. All purchases are subject to a 30-day money-back guarantee.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing and availability of features at any time, with reasonable notice to users.
7. No Account Required
AI Explorers Academy does not require user accounts or registration. Your child's progress, nickname, and selected avatar are stored in your browser's local storage and remain entirely on your device. Clearing browser data will erase this progress.
8. ARIA AI Tutor
ARIA is powered by a third-party AI language model. Conversations with ARIA are used only to generate responses in the moment and are not stored or logged by us beyond the current session. Please note:
- ARIA's responses are generated by AI and may occasionally be imperfect.
- ARIA is not a substitute for professional tutoring, medical, legal, or mental health advice.
- Do not share personal information (full name, address, phone number, school name) in ARIA chats.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or scrape our curriculum content
- Use ARIA to generate harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
- Attempt to bypass any free-tier restrictions through technical means
- Resell or redistribute our content without written permission
10. Intellectual Property
All curriculum content, mission text, lesson materials, artwork, and the ARIA character are the intellectual property of AI Explorers Academy. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the app for personal educational purposes only.
You may not reproduce, distribute, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any of our content without prior written permission.
11. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Netlify — hosting and form submissions
- Anthropic / OpenAI — AI language model powering ARIA
- Stripe (coming soon) — payment processing for full access
Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for their practices.
12. Disclaimers
AI Explorers Academy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- ARIA's responses will always be accurate or complete
- The app will meet every user's specific educational needs
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Explorers Academy and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of progress, or errors in AI-generated content.
Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the claim (or $0 if you used only the free tier).
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.
